Scanfill is exhibiting at Interpack and Oscar is there to present the Materialsmart concept together with, among others, salesperson Niklas Linde. The concept means choosing the optimal packaging material for each product and, at the same time, reducing the environmental impact of the packaging. Since the concept was launched, Oscar and Niklas have received many questions and we have summarized three of them here.

What packaging materials do you offer?
“We are a ‘one stop shop’, a foil manufacturer with a broad product catalog that can offer PP, PET and PS, both based on virgin as well as recycled material, and together with various additives,” says Niklas Linde.
“We manufacture PP that can withstand sub-zero temperatures in the freezer, the cold in the refrigerator and also the stresses of the microwave oven. The PP is available in HiClear which is mainly used in lids. Our most popular option is antifog, which makes the food visible through the packaging in both warm and cold environments. Our PS is available with high transparency and in many different colors. Our PS foil made from 100 percent recycled material is very popular and is mainly used for industrial trays. Then, of course, we also have PET.”

What is Scanfill’s biggest advantage?
“A niche but major advantage is that we can now offer ESD protection for PP, PET and PS, which shows our breadth. Our PS-ESD has up to 90 percent recycled raw materials and a surface resistance down to 10^3 Ohm. It is divided into three different levels depending on customer needs. PP-ESD and PET-ESD also have fantastic anti-static properties,” says Niklas Linde.
