Biodegradable or bio-based foils

Partially plant-based

Some of the raw material in our bio-based foils comes from the plant kingdom. Using renewable sources can result in a finished foil with a lower carbon footprint, thereby providing a more sustainable alternative to foils made entirely from fossil-based oil.

Recyclable in existing systems

Plastics with bio-based content can be recycled in established recycling systems. By choosing the right bio plastic you’re taking end-of-use responsibility and allowing the industry to continue toward circular material flows without requiring new infrastructure or expensive changes.

Keep the function – max your green credentials

The choice of a bio-based foil provides the same excellent moldability and reliable results as a conventional foil. Because a bio-based foil reduces the amount of fossil raw material, it’s an excellent choice if you’re looking for packaging with clear green credentials.

Degrafoil PLA

Our Degrafoil PLA is made from renewable raw materials, primarily cornstarch and sugarcane that provide the foil with a naturally low carbon footprint. Degrafoil PLA is degradable via industrial composting, making it easy to take responsibility for end-of-use packaging. The foil is ideal for thermoforming and provides results with good transparency and clarity. Degrafoil is the smart choice for disposable packaging that must both protect its contents and display them in an appealing way.
